Metallogenic Mechanism of Typical Carbonate-Hosted Uranium Deposits in Guizhou (China)

چکیده

Research on topics such as geological–tectonic evolution, metallogenic models of deposits (gold, mercury, lead, zinc, etc.), and ore-forming fluids’ evolution has been conducted in Guizhou. However, few studies have uranium (U) (especially carbonate-hosted U deposits). Moreover, the relationship between hydrocarbon fluids U-mineralization not addressed at all. Typical (including some ore spots) Guizhou Province investigated through close field work, petrography, mineralogical, micro-spectroscopy, organic geochemical C isotope studies. The central part U-ore body is often black (the alternation zone) outcrop, its sides are gray gray-brown zone); color gradually becomes lighter (black to gray) from center out sides. Petrographic observations, microscopic laser Raman spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopic scanning electron microscope analyses indicated that U-minerals (pitchblende coffinite), pyrite “black” matter (OM) closely co-dependent, with OM having typical characteristics bitumen. Large light oil fluid inclusions were found rocks (besides body) strong blue fluorescence properties, indicating may came same U-bearing fluids. values 13C value, a biomarker trace elements, REEs U-ores, be similar here those local paleo-petroleum reservoir, bitumen originate deeply intruding reservoir. precipitation related cracking differentiation As result, neither sedimentary diagenesis type, nor superimposed leaching hydrothermal transformation described by previous scholars. To exact, deposit controlled fault fluids, so it can defined structural hydrocarbon–carbonate-type deposit. A new model was proposed this study. Here, U, molybdenum, other metals mainly lower stratum (presumably Niutitang Formation), migrated together form tiny mineral inclusions. (containing brine) caused upon entering fracture zone, which point materials (U, pyrite, metals) released precipitated.

Evidence of uranium biomineralization in sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposits, northwestern China

We show evidence that the primary uranium minerals, uraninite and coffinite, from high-grade ore samples (U3O8N0.3%) in the Wuyiyi, Wuyier, and Wuyisan sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposits, Xinjiang, northwestern China were biogenically precipitated and psuedomorphically replace fungi and bacteria. Uranium (VI), which was the sole electron acceptor, was likely to have been enzymically r...

Mineral paragenesis and textures associated with sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposits, NW China

We present a first paragenetic study of the Wuyier, Wuyisan, Wuyiyi and Shihongtan sandstone-hosted roll-front uranium deposits, northwest China. The mineralization is hosted by Lower–Middle Jurassic coarseto medium-grained sandstones, which are dark-gray to black due to a mixture of ore minerals and carbonaceous debris. The sandstone is alluvial fan-braided river facies. Minerals associated wi...

Characterization of Endolithic Culturable Microbial Communities in Carbonate Rocks from a Typical Karst Canyon in Guizhou (China).

The endolithic environment is a ubiquitous habitat for microorganisms and a critical interface between biology and geology. In this study, a culture-based method and the phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) sequences were used to investigate the diversity of endolithic bacteria and fungi in two main types of carbonate rocks (namely dolomite and limestone...

Uranium-Series Disequilibria in the Groundwater of the Shihongtan Sandstone-Hosted Uranium Deposit, NW China

Uranium (U) concentration and the activities of 238U, 234U, and 230Th were determined for groundwaters, spring waters, and lake water collected from the Shihongtan sandstone-hosted U ore district and in the surrounding area, NW China. The results show that the groundwaters from the oxidizing aquifer with high dissolved oxygen concentration (O2) and oxidation-reduction potential (Eh) are enriche...
